Frequently asked questions

Coring (aeration) relieves soil compaction and helps water and nutrients reach the roots, while scarifying removes built-up thatch and moss from the surface. Many lawns benefit from both – get in touch and we can assess which your lawn needs, or whether it’s due for a combination of the two.

It depends on how much of the existing lawn is salvageable. If the grass is patchy, thinning, or compacted but the base is sound, restoration (coring, scarifying, topdressing) is usually the better option. If it’s beyond recovery (heavily bare, weed-dominated, or you’re after a completely fresh start) instant turf may be the quicker path. We’re happy to have a look and advise honestly either way.

Most residential instant lawn jobs are completed within a day, from site preparation through to laying the new turf. Larger areas or additional site prep (levelling, soil replacement) may take a little longer – we’ll give you a clear timeframe as part of your quote.

Every lawn is a little different, but restoration typically draws on a combination of coring, scarifying, topdressing, and sometimes irrigation checks, depending on what your lawn needs. We tailor the approach to your specific lawn rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment.

Not always – it depends on your existing soil quality and lawn condition. We’ll let you know as part of the quote whether topdressing is recommended for your property.

No – proper site preparation (removing the old lawn, levelling the soil) is an important step for a healthy, long-lasting result. We handle that as part of the installation process.
